What is
SOUND THERAPY?
"In ancient times, music was the foundation of all the sciences. Education was begun with music..."
-Marcus Tullius Cicero (106-43 BC)
"Sound Healing" is an effective blanket term to describe experiences, from babies crying in the rooted expression of emotional disturbance or the reception of a beautiful piece of music at an orchestra concert. Since our inception, Sound has profoundly affected our physical, emotional, and mental well-being. Beyond recreation, when used as a healing tool, Sound can maintain health, soothe, raise consciousness, and take us into other realms of thought and reality while making us simply, feel good.
We pick up on the melodic patterning in our mother's voices before birth, Connecting these sounds and intervals to a sense of security and nourishment. We create different frequencies of sound based on our emotional patterning. This can be seen in a sigh, laughing, crying, yelling, etc. Sound can be witnessed as a physical embodiment of harmony as well. We see geometry in nature as acorns and flowers; We can see Sound offering these same symmetrical shapes in cymatic waveforms. We are all consistently offering ourselves sound therapy every single day, wether we know it our not.
